49ers owner Jed York arrested for 'engaging in prostitution' in Ohio, pleads no contest to lesser charges

San Francisco 49ers owner and CEO John "Jed" York was arrested and arraigned in East Palestine, Ohio on suspicion of "engaging in prostitution" and "possessing criminal tools" charges that were later amended to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, according to court records.

York was booked Sunday morning and released that afternoon on a $5,000 bond, the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to OutKick.

The arrest occurred at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community – a trailer park.

East Palestine police referred OutKick to contact the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for more information. The Task Force has not responded to a request for comment.

York appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court on Monday morning. He pleaded no contest to the two misdemeanor charges after the prosecutor filed a plea agreement. 

He must serve two days in jail, with one of those already credited for time served.

York was also ordered to pay $1,150 in fines.

York, 46, will be subject to NFL discipline under the Personal Conduct Policy.

"We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy," the NFL told OutKick in a statement.

The San Francisco 49ers have not commented.

York has been the majority owner of the 49ers since 2024 and was previously the team's CEO. He is originally from Youngstown, Ohio.
